Joseph Boyden

Joseph Boyden spends his time between Northern Ontario and Louisiana. He has an Honours BA in humanities and creative writing from York University and he received his MFA with distinction from the University of New Orleans. His story “Painted Tongue” won first place at the Gulf Coast Writers’ Conference. His first novel Three Day Road won the 2005 Writers’ Trust Fiction Prize and the 2006 Libris Fiction Book of the Year Award, and his second novel Through Black Spruce won the 2008 Scotiabank Giller Prize. Born With A Tooth is his first collection of short fiction.
