Christiane Frenette


Born in Québec City, Christiane Frenette is the author of several collections of poetry, including Indigo nuit, for which she received the Prix Octave-Crémazie, and Cérémonie mémoire, which was nominated for the Governor General's Literary Award. In 1998 she won the Governor General's Literary Award for her novel, La Terre ferme, her first novel, which was translated by Sheila Fischman as Terra Firma and published by Cormorant Books in 1999. Her novel Après la nuit rouge (After the Red Night), won the Prix littéraire Ville de Québec in 2006.
