THE CORMORANT & DANCING CAT FALL LAUNCH EXPLOSION!
The next few weeks are crazy. Like, 5-year-old on a sugar binge crazy. We have a handful of amazing releases swooping in from the warehouse everyday just in time for our back-to-back launches taking place in the next few weeks.
If you can picture an office of chickens – sans heads – running around, that would be us at this very moment. Excited headless chickens. Or… excited headless cormorant birds, I guess. Either way, it’s all worth it. These upcoming titles are fantastic and there is something for everyone on this list.
Here’s a little peek at our planned festivities…
First up: The Tale-Teller by Susan Glickman. A historical novel about a young Jewish woman who arrives in New France dressed as a man and charms the locals with her wild and romantic storytelling.
Next: Cary Fagan’s My Life Among the Apes, longlisted for the 2012 Scotiabank Giller Prize.
The “mini-novels” that make up this collection explore the curious lives of a collection of people, their relationships, history and circumstances.
Then: William Whitehead launches his memoir Words to Live By which accounts the life of a man deeply engaged in our country’s theatre, radio, television, and literature.
From Dancing Cat Books, the launch for The Darkest Corner of the World, a debut novel by Urve Tamberg about a young girl in Estonia who is in the midst of World War II. And if any of you avid fans happen to live in Halifax, we encourage you to check out the launch of Live to Tell by Lisa Harrington, a YA page-turner if I ever read one!
Also don’t forget to come say hi At WORD ON THE STREET next Sunday, September 23rd! We’ll have some of these authors and more signing books in our booth and it’s a great opportunity to pick up some sweet succulent Cormorant titles for your cozy nights in.
Hope to see your pretty faces soon!
