The Association of Canadian Publishers (ACP)
Represents 145 Canadian-owned publishing firms in support of a strong, independent and vibrant Canadian publishing industry.
The Canada Council For the Arts
An arms-length agency of the Canadian Government, reporting to Parliament through the Department of Canadian Heritage, which provides essential support to writers and publishers to help produce, develop and promote works of literary merit.
The Canadian Booksellers Association
Provides service and support to Canadian book retailers. Assists in strengthening the relationship between bookseller and publisher.
The Department of Canadian Heritage
Works to ensure choice of and access to Canadian books that reflect Canada's cultural and linguistic diversity. Administers the Book Publishing Industry Development Program (BPIDP).
The Ontario Arts Council
Provides financial assistance to publishers based in Ontario.
The Ontario Media Development Corporation (OMDC)
An agency that works to support innovation, invention and excellence in Ontario's cultural media industries and to assist in the promotion and marketing of Ontario cultural media. Administers the Ontario Book Publishing Tax Credit.
Canadian chapter of an international association of poets, playwrights, essayists, editors, novelists, translators and journalists that works to free writers who are persecuted for the peaceful expression of their views.
Public Lending Right Commission (PLR)
Makes payments to Canadian authors for their eligible books catalogued in libraries across Canada.
The Writer's Trust of Canada
Coordinates Canada Book Week and rewards excellence through a variety of programs and awards.
The Writers' Union of Canada
Provides support and advice for authors on topics such as: contracts, manuscript evaluation, publisher submissions.
Licenses educational institutions, libraries, governments and other organizations wishing to copy copyright material and distributes the royalties to the rights holders.
